Confident Living, allowing Jesus to reign supremely
At Mercy Road we are finishing an 8-week series on the book of Colossians. It reminds me of Vince Lombardi’s famous speech when he told his team “this is a football” when he masterfully reminded his players of the basics. In Colossians we read that Jesus is enough. It’s not Jesus plus some other fancy religion, social, or cultural ingredient — it’s Jesus alone…He is supreme.
I encourage you to read up on this book, it’s only four chapters and it’s rich in theology while being easy to understand. Focus on Jesus as you read it. Be encouraged as you read the words of the Apostle Paul as he commended this church for the fruit they were producing through relationships and making disciples. Heed the warnings about things that people say or do to spoil your contentment and joy in Jesus through the local church. And don’t forget to focus on your relationships with each other, especially your family and those in your workplace.
Be confident with Jesus and the freedom that the gospel brings to you everyday. Join us for the next two weeks as we close out the series. We start a sermon series in September on the Psalms. For more details visit mercyroadchurch.net or follow Mercy Road on Twitter @wearemercyroad.
