A letter to our support team:
November 8, 2015
I am writing to let you know that I will no longer be a pastor at Mercy Road Church. With much prayer, accountability, reflection, and a variety of emotions I informed Scott Sterner at the Forest Lakes District office that this is the best decision for my family. My last day at MRC was today, Sunday, November 8, 2015. It has been an honor and privilege to do kingdom work with the people of Mercy Road Church during this season of vocational ministry.
I have learned a great deal about life, ministry, and walking with Jesus in the past year. The journey has been challenging yet rewarding; frustrating yet joyful; difficult yet fun. We know that God has called us to the Fox Valley and we enjoy living in Appleton. We are planning to stay in the area as Megan finishes strong at Appleton North High School, Heidi will continue with a couple of part-time jobs that she enjoys, and I will embark on a new and unknown adventure.
I want to encourage you — as a follower of Jesus YOU are empowered to share the Gospel in everyday life. Remember these three things as you seek the Lord in mutual community:
OPPORTUNITY – INTENTIONALITY – AVAILABILITY
For those who are on our support team, online giving will be active through November 23, 2015. Any contributions received through that date will go toward my last payroll check. If you wish to provide a final contribution to help sustain us in our transition we would be most grateful. If you have questions regarding your online account, or if you need to discuss other financials, please contact the FLD office at (715) 344-4288. We are eternally humbled and blessed for your sacrifice of financial and prayer support for our family, thank you!
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. ~Philippians 4:8-9 (NLT)
