Sunday evening update:

Heidi had several visitors today. We are blessed with so many friends who love us – thank you! Andi and Andrew also came and brought Megan back. It was so good to have Heidi and her “hero” together today and I know it lifted Heidi’s spirit to get a hug from Meg. Megan was her cheer leader after the accident when they were waiting for the paramedics to get to the scene. Erin has made it safely back to Illinois State University to finish up her semester. As most of you already know, our girls rock!

Heidi has been taken off the pain meds through the IV and is now taking oral meds for pain. She also successfully went for a ride in a wheelchair — zoom, zoom, zoom. For now, she is snoring as I type this update and hopefully she will have a restful night. I will be leaving soon to be with Megan.

I will plan to be here early in the morning to talk with the surgeon for an update, I’ve been spending most of my time into the late night hours with Heidi. We are hoping to get some good information about what it will take to be able to leave the hospital. We have no information about that yet. I know many of you are asking “when can she go home?” and we just don’t know. The discharge area of the whiteboard says TBD.

Please continue to pray for healing and ongoing issues related to rehab, especially emotionally, for all of us.

  1. Continuing to pray. I was hoping to drive up tomorrow early afternoon – weather permitting. I plan on bringing some food for when you are home. If there is anything I could help with please let me know.

  2. My love and prayers go out to you all. Give Heidi a hug for me and give her my love. I also just sent you a message about a question I have of a way to hopefully help you all from afar. I know there are a lot of people here that want to help

  3. Yay for wheelchair rides!!
I continue to post links to your updates on FB and have many friends praying for you also, some on the other side of the world 🙂
    Love you all!!

  4. God woke me an hour earlier than I intended, which tells me I’m supposed to be spending time with Him. You are all on my mind, in my heart, and in my prayers. Tell Heidi the way our Todd (now 13) remembered her was that she and the girls were here when we dissected the pig’s digestive tract on the back deck when doing the human body with her girls and the Jondles – that should bring a smile! Praying for a peace that surpasses understanding and that your faith is a testimony to those around you. Praying you feel His presence every moment, because we know He’s right there with you.

  5. Continued prayers for healing for Heidi and Megan. Continued prayers for you all for coping with what you will and are going through emotionally. Huge hugs with prayers.
    Love the Janelle’s

  6. Thanks so much for the update!! We continue to pray for Heidi and family for healing and comfort. The power of prayer and especially intersessory prayer comes from God above. He is our strength and conforter & we give all the glory!!!

Your brother & sister in Christ,

    Larry & Betty
