Sorry for the delays in providing updates, I know many of you have been wondering how Heidi and Megan are doing and hoping for some more details. I will continue to provide basic updates here on my blog, please understand that it takes time to manage the site and to write about things that are helpful but not too detailed, it’s prudent to keep it simple 🙂

Heidi was recently transferred to a post-surgery rehab center where she will continue her care and strengthening. They have the necessary OT and PT services along with meals and nursing services that she continues to require. We do not have any timeframe for how long she will be at the rehab facility.

Megan continues to recover at home and is doing her best to be in a routine again. Also, her ongoing medical care has been established. She is still in pain and her body needs a lot of rest. She and I are spending a lot of time together when I’m not with Heidi…I love hearing Meg’s laugh when she sees me doing something stupid. Being her “cool” dorky dad is a blessing!

I don’t want to make Heidi’s location public, if you would like to visit or send a card to her please contact me directly for that information. She would love to have visitors.

Many have asked how I’m doing. I’m coping, which doesn’t say much but it’s hard to explain the emotions and physical aspects of being a husband and father in a situation like this. My heart aches for my wife and daughter and I am very aware of making sure I stay healthy in all areas of my life – spiritually, physically, and emotionally. I have my close friends to help me and I’m receiving the necessary medical care to proactively stay on top of things.

Big thanks for our MRC friends in Appleton for setting up meals for me and Megan — love you guys!

  1. Thank you so much Brian for the updates. I use them to know how to pray for all of you. You are doing a great job of giving just enough details to keep us informed and we appreciate that. Was glad to see you are taking care of YOURSELF in this process, as that’s important too. These situations keep one busy in a way they couldn’t have imagined at first, so we are praying you through it each step of the way. God bless you Brian; so thankful God’s people are looking out for you! Brenda and Dave

  2. Thanks for the updates Brian. We are continuing prayers for yiur family. We’re glad you’re being cared for too. Many blessings with prayers

  3. Thanks for the updates. Really. I am sure, I like many people sit and wonder how you are all doing. People care so much about you guys. You have so much to deal with and blogging just cannot be high on the priority list. So any snippet of info that you provide is appreciated. And Brian, I know you know this, but you just have to take care of yourself too. Stress has a way of doing things to you. And you cannot even see it coming. Take care.

  4. One more thought….my heart cries out for Heidi and all of you. I cannot stand it when I think of her pain and what she is going through.

    1. Thanks so much, Darryl. Good to hear from you. I’m not using Facebook now, could you please post a quick update about this to the cohort group on my behalf? Please reference my website so they can get in touch or read updates. ~Brian
